Burbank, California electronic producer Wyatt Baer (aka w. baer) returns with his third release for Hush Hush Records on the haunting 5-track EP titled 'Wait a minute…who am i here?' While his previous releases have explored the darker edges of cinematic, immersive beats, his latest creations dive deeper into the abyss, adding an enhanced sense of impending doom to his glistening productions. With a title inspired by the cult 1987 thriller b-movie 'The Stepfather,' and heavily influenced by his love for synth-heavy horror film soundtracks, 'Wait a minute…' offers an episodic soundtrack to a suburban nightmare filled with stagnant complacency that’s riddled with anxiety. Embracing a more experimental, flow-based approach that allows the listener to drift in and out of engagement with its eerie backdrops, Baer’s ambient impulses are often interrupted by jarring stabs of ominous drums that simultaneously set the foundation for his emotional, off-kilter melodies. Another impressive addition into w. baer’s evolving catalogue, this 25-minute fever dream marks one of Hush Hush’s most harrowing releases to date.
