Kid Smpl – alias of 22-year-old Seattle electronic producer Joey Butler – returns with the latest evolution of his signature take on atmospheric bass music with the brand-new Escape Pod EP. Four new tracks plunge listeners into a hypnotically cinematic world that pair ghostly vocal samples with lush synths, immersive low-end tones, complex drumwork, and washed-out ambient textures. Accompanying the four original tracks is a cerebral, euphoric dancefloor remix from San Francisco’s D33J, a blossoming member of the Wedidit Collective. Escape Pod marks the inaugural release from Hush Hush Records, and also sets the stage for Kid Smpl's forthcoming debut LP, scheduled for release by the label later this year.
